As with everything we do - this is usually known as the "first negotiation stage".  Brian is looking at small powerboats, fishing boats, and mini trawlers.  Ellen is looking at the European and Erie Canal rental boats which have a much more spacious interior and romantic look to them.

The decision will also be to buy a boat on the East Coast - or build/restore one in California that can can be trailer-ed East.
